Outstanding Scalability Confirmed for
WorkForce Software's Time and Attendance Solutions
LIVONIA, Mich., March 31, 2005 – WorkForce
Software today announced outstanding scalability for its time and
attendance solution, with the ability to support upwards of 100,000
users on Dell server platforms running Red Hat Linux and Oracle.
WorkForce Software provides flexible, web-based time and attendance
solutions to large organizations with complex requirements in order
to automate the management, collection, and calculation of employee
hours in real time. The performance testing simulated the usage
of the WorkForce Software Solution on a test population of 100,000
employees under a series of high demand real-life conditions.

The scalability testing was done by first creating application
test scripts to simulate a "day in the life" of the WorkForce application
end-user. The scripts covered everyday activities performed by
employees such as self service transactions to enter, submit, and
approve timesheets and clocking in and out using badge readers.
The simulation was based on proprietary WorkForce Software technology
which generates the exact same transactions in the exact same way
as an end user using a badge reader or web-browser. The impact
on the servers, therefore, matches a real-world environment. The
tests were run with Dell servers using Red Hat Linux and an Oracle
10g infrastructure. The testing indicated that with such a large
user base, the hardware platforms and software could handle all
the simultaneous users with sub-second response times.
