Teens 13-17 Learn From Top WorkForce Executives in the “WorkForce Dream Builder Experience”
LIVONIA, Mich. (May 5, 2016) – WorkForce Software has teamed up with leading health and wellness nonprofit, GENYOUth to launch the WorkForce Dream Builder Experience: Envision the Future, a collaborative mentoring experience for young, social entrepreneurs in the Detroit Metro area as a part of GENYOUth’s AdVenture Capital program.
Blending innovation and wellness, the WorkForce Dream Builder Experience invites young leaders across the Detroit Metro area to submit their own ‘big idea’ for how to solve a health and wellness problem in their school or community. Eight winners will receive a $1,250 grant along with the opportunity to spend two days at the WorkForce Software headquarters in Livonia, Michigan, learning from the company’s top executives.
“There’s no better way to affect change than to inspire the next generation, and that’s exactly what we’re doing through our partnership with GENYOUth,” said Mike Morini, CEO of WorkForce Software. “By sharing what we’ve learned first-hand about leadership, collaboration, and innovation, we’re creating an opportunity to make the world a better place. And that’s something these young leaders will carry with them to their classrooms, onto the playing field, and eventually out into the workplace.”
GENYOUth helps students become change agents in their communities and create healthier futures for themselves and their peers. Its programs include the largest in-school health and wellness program in the U.S., “Fuel Up to Play 60,” as well as AdVenture Capital (“AdCap”), a social entrepreneurial program, which provides funding, mentors and experiences to students 13-17 for ideas to make their schools and communities healthier.
“At GENYOUth, we’re passionate about empowering young, social entrepreneurs to be the stewards of healthy change in their schools and communities,” said GENYOUth’s CEO, Alexis Glick. “We’re thrilled to be partnering with WorkForce Software on this initiative because the future of work is being created now, and by preparing our students today with the leadership skills of tomorrow they will be able to positively impact our schools and communities for years to come.”
The inaugural WorkForce Dream Builder Experience kicks off this month, and Detroit-area teens, ages 13-17, are encouraged to visit www.AdCapYOUth.org to apply.
