“While some industries, such as retail, anticipate slower holiday hiring this year versus last year, there are still many opportunities for seasonal employees to find roles,” says Moran. “Since there’s also an increase in travel during the holidays, more hospitality jobs, in hotels and restaurants, also become available.”

“People over 50 can connect the dots between their prior experience and the seasonal role they’re applying for,” Moran says. “If they worked in client services earlier in their career and are applying for a retail role, they should highlight how those customer service skills translate and why they’re a good hire.”
