WorkForce Software CEO Mike Morini was a pro football player before moving into the tech industry, and he hasn’t forgotten the lessons he learned on the field.
“In football,” he says, “it’s a team sport with 11 people on the field. If just 10 out of those 11 people execute flawlessly while one doesn’t, the whole team will fail.”
The sport also influenced his favorite question to ask in job interviews: “Do you hate losing more than you love winning, or do you love winning more than you hate losing?”
And while Morini claims there’s no right or wrong answer, the response often gives great insight into how a candidate is wired, how they think on their feet, and what motivates them.
