The Way Companies Treat Their Employees Will Determine If They’ll Be Winners Or Losers In The War For Talent | Forbes

The war for talent has never been greater—despite frequent furloughs, shutdowns, and changes to millions of Americans’ employment statuses over the past year and a half. Work is changing at an astronomical and previously unseen rate. Employers who don’t put their employees first, or disregard their mental and emotional well-being, risk losing valuable talent.

According to Forbes senior contributor Jack Kelly, how companies and organizations treat their employees “will become the deciding factor for success or failure in our new post-pandemic era.”

In response to changing work preferences, many employers have been repurposing office spaces to make them more attractive to younger employees and providing them with flexible work arrangements.

But not everyone is able to choose when, where, and how they work—especially the millions of deskless and shift-based workers who comprise the global workforce.

WorkForce Software CEO Mike Morini shared with Kelly how organizations can meet employees’ needs where they work and reap the benefits of a more engaged and motivated workforce.

Along with recognizing employees’ accomplishments, needs, and career ambitions, Morini provided recommendations and insights on:

  • Improving employee satisfaction with flexible work schedules and providing accessible, easily modifiable calendars and standardized, streamlined practices for shift swapping and time-off requests
  • The role job training and upskilling has on productivity and employee engagement in the new workforce and how it can lead to greater sustained business agility
  • How to build team spirit and a sense of belonging across an organization between deskless employees and their colleagues by capturing employee sentiment in the moment and opening up two-way communication
